  • H₂O: Atom or Molecule? Understanding Water's Composition
    H₂O is a molecule.

    Here's why:

    * Atoms are the basic building blocks of matter. They are the smallest unit of an element that retains the chemical properties of that element. Examples include hydrogen (H) and oxygen (O).

    * Molecules are formed when two or more atoms bond together. H₂O (water) is made up of two hydrogen atoms (H) and one oxygen atom (O) bonded together.
