  • Hydrochloric Acid and Sodium Hydroxide Reaction: Products & Explanation
When hydrochloric acid (HCl) reacts with sodium hydroxide (NaOH), the following two substances are formed:

    1. Sodium chloride (NaCl) - This is a common table salt.

    2. Water (H₂O)

The reaction is a neutralization reaction, where an acid and a base react to form salt and water:

HCl (aq) + NaOH (aq) → NaCl (aq) + H₂O (l)
