Molarity (M) = Moles of solute / Liters of solution
Where:
* Molarity (M) is the concentration of the solution expressed in moles per liter (mol/L).
* Moles of solute is the amount of the dissolved substance in moles.
* Liters of solution is the total volume of the solution in liters.
Example:
If you dissolve 0.5 moles of sodium chloride (NaCl) in 1 liter of water, the molarity of the solution would be:
Molarity = 0.5 moles NaCl / 1 L = 0.5 M
