  • Phenolphthalein and Sodium Chloride: Color Change Explained
There will be no color change when phenolphthalein is mixed with a sodium chloride (NaCl) solution.

    Here's why:

    * Phenolphthalein as an indicator: Phenolphthalein is a pH indicator. It is colorless in acidic and neutral solutions but turns pink/magenta in basic solutions.

    * Sodium chloride solution: A sodium chloride solution is neutral. It does not have any acidic or basic properties.

Since the sodium chloride solution is neutral, phenolphthalein will remain colorless in it.
