  • Hydrogen Reactivity: What Elements Does Hydrogen Interact With?
Hydrogen doesn't really "get along" with anything in the same way that people do. It's an element, not a person, and it doesn't have feelings or opinions.

However, we can say that hydrogen is:

    * Highly reactive: This means it readily reacts with other elements, sometimes explosively, especially when mixed with oxygen. Think of the Hindenburg disaster!

    * Combines readily with other elements: Hydrogen forms compounds with virtually every other element, making it very versatile.

    * Not particularly friendly with itself: Hydrogen exists as a diatomic molecule (H2) at room temperature, meaning two hydrogen atoms bind together. This bonding is strong, but it can also be a source of energy.

So, to answer your question directly, hydrogen doesn't really "get along" with anything in a negative sense. It's more accurate to say that hydrogen is very reactive and forms strong bonds with many elements.
