  • Liquid to Gas: Examples of Vaporization and Evaporation
Here are some examples of liquid to gas transitions, also known as vaporization:

    * Boiling water: When you heat water on the stove, it eventually reaches its boiling point (100°C or 212°F). At this point, the water molecules gain enough energy to break free from their liquid state and become water vapor (steam).

    * Drying clothes: Clothes that are wet after washing release water molecules into the air through evaporation.

    * Evaporation from a puddle: A puddle on the ground slowly disappears as the water molecules evaporate into the air.

    * Dry ice sublimating: Dry ice (solid carbon dioxide) skips the liquid state and directly transitions into gaseous carbon dioxide. This is called sublimation.

    * Gasoline evaporating: The smell of gasoline is caused by the evaporation of volatile liquid hydrocarbons into the air.

    * Alcohol evaporating from skin: When you apply rubbing alcohol to your skin, you feel a cooling sensation as the alcohol quickly evaporates.

These are just a few examples, and there are many others. Let me know if you'd like more examples!
