  • Hydrogen vs. Carbon Dioxide: Which Molecule is Smaller?
Hydrogen particles are smaller than carbon dioxide particles.

    Here's why:

    * Hydrogen (H2) is a diatomic molecule consisting of two hydrogen atoms bonded together.

    * Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a triatomic molecule consisting of one carbon atom bonded to two oxygen atoms.

Since carbon dioxide has more atoms and a larger molecular weight, it is physically larger than hydrogen.
