* Middle: The lanthanides and actinides, located below the main body of the table, are also all metals.
Exceptions:

* Metalloids (also called semimetals) are elements that have properties of both metals and nonmetals. They are located along a "staircase" line that separates metals from nonmetals on the periodic table.
