* Decomposition: Sodium hydroxide decomposes before it reaches a boiling point. When heated to a high enough temperature, it breaks down into sodium oxide (Na₂O) and water (H₂O).
* Sublimation: Instead of boiling, sodium hydroxide sublimates, meaning it transitions directly from a solid to a gas without passing through a liquid state. This sublimation occurs at around 1390°C (2534°F).
Important note: Working with sodium hydroxide requires extreme caution. It is a very corrosive substance and can cause severe burns.
