  • Fluorine: The Most Reactive Halogen - Properties & Reactivity
The most reactive halogen is Fluorine (F).

    Here's why:

    * Electronegativity: Fluorine has the highest electronegativity of all elements. This means it has a strong attraction for electrons, making it highly reactive.

    * Small Size: Fluorine is the smallest halogen, which means its valence electrons are closer to the nucleus and experience a stronger attraction. This enhances its reactivity.

    * Strong Oxidizing Agent: Fluorine is a very strong oxidizing agent, readily accepting electrons to form negative ions (fluoride). This high oxidizing power contributes to its reactivity.

While chlorine, bromine, and iodine are also halogens, they are less reactive than fluorine due to their larger size and lower electronegativity.
