    You're close! There's no such thing as NO4 in chemistry.

    NO3 stands for Nitrate. It's a polyatomic ion with the formula NO3-, consisting of one nitrogen atom and three oxygen atoms.

    NO2 is Nitrite, another polyatomic ion with the formula NO2-.

    It's easy to confuse these because they're both nitrogen oxides, but they have different chemical structures and properties.
