    Heating generally decreases the solubility of a gas dissolved in a liquid. Here's why:

As temperature increases, the vapor pressure of the gas above the liquid also increases, leading to a decrease in the partial pressure of the gas in the liquid phase. This further drives the gas molecules out of solution.

    Think of it like this: Imagine a gas trapped in a balloon. As you heat the balloon, the gas molecules move faster and hit the balloon walls with more force, increasing the pressure inside. Eventually, the pressure inside the balloon becomes too high, and the gas escapes. The same principle applies to a gas dissolved in a liquid.

    Exceptions:

    While heating generally decreases gas solubility, there are some exceptions:

    * Chemical Reactions: If the dissolved gas reacts with the solvent, heating can sometimes increase its solubility. For example, the solubility of carbon dioxide in water increases slightly with temperature because some CO2 reacts with water to form carbonic acid.

    * Very High Pressures: At very high pressures, the solubility of some gases can increase with temperature due to complex interactions between the gas molecules and the solvent.

    Practical Examples:

    * Boiling Water: When you boil water, dissolved gases like oxygen and nitrogen are released, leading to bubbles.

    * Opening a Soda Bottle: The fizz you hear when you open a soda bottle is caused by the release of carbon dioxide gas, which becomes less soluble as the pressure inside the bottle decreases.

    * Fish in Warm Water: Fish in warm water have less oxygen available because the solubility of oxygen in water decreases at higher temperatures.

    In summary, heating a liquid typically decreases the solubility of gases dissolved in it, due to increased kinetic energy of gas molecules and changes in pressure.
