    Solids and liquids are considered condensed materials because their molecules are closely packed together, unlike gases where the molecules are widely spaced and move freely.

    * Solids: In solids, the molecules are fixed in a rigid structure with strong intermolecular forces holding them together. This tight arrangement leads to a fixed shape and volume.

    * Liquids: In liquids, the molecules are also closely packed, but they have more freedom of movement compared to solids. They can slide past each other, resulting in a fixed volume but a variable shape.

    In contrast, gases have very weak intermolecular forces and their molecules are far apart and move randomly. This allows gases to expand to fill any container they occupy.

    Therefore, both solids and liquids are considered condensed because of the high density of their molecules due to their close packing.
