    Gases have unique properties that distinguish them from solids and liquids. Here are some key characteristics:

    1. Indefinite Shape and Volume:

    * Gases have no fixed shape or volume. They take the shape and volume of their container.

    * This is because the particles in a gas are very far apart and have weak attractive forces between them.

    2. High Compressibility:

    * Gases can be compressed easily, meaning their volume can be reduced by applying pressure.

    * This is possible because there is a lot of empty space between gas particles.

    3. Low Density:

    * Gases have a low density compared to solids and liquids.

    * This is due to the large distance between particles and the relatively low mass of individual gas molecules.

    4. Free Movement and Random Motion:

    * Gas particles move freely and randomly in all directions.

    * They constantly collide with each other and the walls of their container.

    5. Diffusion:

    * Gases have a high rate of diffusion. This means they can spread out and mix with other gases quickly.

    * This is because the particles move freely and are not restricted by strong intermolecular forces.

    6. Pressure:

    * Gases exert pressure on their container due to the constant collisions of their particles with the walls.

    * Pressure is directly proportional to the temperature and the number of gas particles.

    7. Thermal Expansion:
