  • Understanding Salt: The Elements of Sodium Chloride (NaCl)
    Salt, also known as sodium chloride (NaCl), is made of two elements:

    * Sodium (Na): A soft, silvery-white metal.

    * Chlorine (Cl): A greenish-yellow gas.

    When sodium and chlorine react, they form an ionic bond, where sodium loses an electron and chlorine gains an electron. This creates a stable compound, sodium chloride, which is the salt we use in our everyday lives.
