* Respiration takes in glucose (C6H12O6) and oxygen (O2) to produce carbon dioxide (CO2), water (H2O), and energy (ATP).
In essence, photosynthesis makes the fuel (glucose and oxygen) that respiration uses to create energy.
This is a beautiful example of how these two processes are complementary and essential for life on Earth.
