  • Inorganic Acids in the Human Body: Types, Functions & Importance
Inorganic acids in the body are primarily:

    * Hydrochloric Acid (HCl): Found in the stomach, it aids in digestion by breaking down food and activating digestive enzymes.

    * Phosphoric Acid (H3PO4): Plays a critical role in energy metabolism, DNA and RNA synthesis, and bone health.

    * Sulfuric Acid (H2SO4): Produced during protein metabolism, it contributes to acid-base balance and is essential for the detoxification of some toxins.

    * Carbonic Acid (H2CO3): Formed in the body from carbon dioxide and water, it is vital for regulating blood pH and maintaining acid-base balance.

These are the main inorganic acids present in the body. While other inorganic acids may exist in trace amounts, their role is less significant compared to these four.
