  • States of Matter: Which Has No Definite Volume?
The answer is gas. Here's why:

    * Solids have a definite shape and volume.

    * Liquids have a definite volume but take the shape of their container.

    * Gases have no definite shape or volume. They expand to fill whatever container they are in.

Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space. So, while gases are matter, they don't have a definite volume.
