  • Elements vs. Molecules: Understanding the Fundamental Building Blocks of Matter
That statement is backwards! It's the other way around:

    * Elements are the simplest pure substances made up of only one type of atom.

    * Molecules are formed when two or more atoms (of the same or different elements) bond together.

Here's an analogy: Imagine building blocks. Elements are like individual building blocks (like a red block or a blue block), while molecules are like structures you build by putting those blocks together (like a house or a tower).

So, molecules are not joined together to form elements. Instead, atoms of elements are joined together to form molecules.
