  • Francium vs. Cesium: Understanding Alkali Metal Reactivity
The two most reactive alkali metals are francium (Fr) and cesium (Cs).

    Here's why:

    * Reactivity of Alkali Metals: Alkali metals are located in Group 1 of the periodic table. They have a single valence electron, making them highly reactive. As you go down the group, the reactivity increases due to:

    * Larger atomic size: The outermost electron is further from the nucleus, making it easier to remove.

    * Lower ionization energy: Less energy is required to remove the outermost electron.

    * Francium and Cesium: Francium is the most reactive alkali metal, but it is extremely rare and radioactive. Cesium is the second most reactive and is the heaviest stable alkali metal.

Therefore, cesium and francium are the most reactive alkali metals.
