  • Electron Location in Atoms: Understanding Electron Orbitals
Electrons are found in the nucleus of an atom.

    Here's why:

    * Nucleus: The nucleus is the dense, positively charged center of an atom. It contains protons and neutrons.

    * Electrons: Electrons are negatively charged particles that orbit the nucleus in a cloud-like region called the electron cloud or electron shell.

So, while protons and neutrons reside in the nucleus, electrons exist in the space surrounding it.
