    Here are two examples of substances that are soluble in water:

    * Salt (NaCl): Table salt dissolves readily in water. The sodium and chloride ions are attracted to the polar water molecules and break apart from the crystal structure.

    * Sugar (Sucrose): Sugar is also very soluble in water. The sugar molecules form hydrogen bonds with the water molecules, allowing them to dissolve.
