    Hydrogen is in the group 1 of the periodic table, also known as the alkali metals. However, it's important to note that hydrogen has some unique properties that differentiate it from the other alkali metals.

    Therefore, while hydrogen shares some similarities with the alkali metals, it also exhibits unique properties that set it apart. It is often classified separately as a unique element with its own distinctive chemical and physical characteristics.
