  • Electrons: Understanding Mass and Negative Charge in Subatomic Physics
The subatomic particles with very little mass and a negative charge are electrons.

    Here's why:

    * Mass: Electrons have a mass that is approximately 1/1836th the mass of a proton or neutron. This is significantly smaller than the other two subatomic particles.

    * Charge: Electrons carry a single unit of negative charge, which is equal and opposite to the positive charge of a proton.
