  • Phases of Matter at Water's Melting Point: Ice and Liquid Water
    At the melting temperature of water (0°C or 32°F), there are two phases of matter present:

    * Solid: Ice

    * Liquid: Water

    This is because the melting point is the temperature at which a solid transitions into a liquid. At this exact temperature, both phases can coexist in equilibrium.
