  • Strong Electrolytes: Ions vs. Molecules - Understanding Dissociation
A strong electrolyte contains mostly ions.

    Here's why:

    * Strong electrolytes are substances that completely dissociate into ions when dissolved in water. This means they break apart into positively and negatively charged particles.

    * Ions are charged atoms or molecules.

    * Molecules are neutral groups of atoms held together by chemical bonds.

Since strong electrolytes fully break down into ions, there will be a negligible amount of the original molecule present in the solution.
