  • Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2): Is It a Metal or Nonmetal Oxide?
    NO2 (nitrogen dioxide) is a non-metal oxide.

    Here's why:

    * Nitrogen (N) is a non-metal.

    * Oxygen (O) is also a non-metal.

    * Oxides are compounds formed between oxygen and another element.

    Since both nitrogen and oxygen are non-metals, their combination (NO2) is considered a non-metal oxide.
