  • Radium: The Radioactive Alkaline Earth Metal - Properties & Half-Life
The only radioactive alkaline earth metal is radium (Ra).

While all the other alkaline earth metals (beryllium, magnesium, calcium, strontium, and barium) are stable, radium is radioactive because it has no stable isotopes. All of its isotopes decay radioactively, with the longest-lived isotope, radium-226, having a half-life of about 1600 years.
