  • DNA Base Pairing: Guanine and Cytosine - Equal Amounts Explained
The number of cytosine bases is equal to the number of guanine bases in a DNA molecule.

This is due to the base pairing rules of DNA:

    * Adenine (A) always pairs with Thymine (T)

    * Guanine (G) always pairs with Cytosine (C)

Therefore, the amount of guanine in a DNA molecule will always be equal to the amount of cytosine.
