  • Atom Nucleus Composition: What's NOT Inside?
The nucleus of an atom does not contain electrons.

    Here's why:

    * Nucleus: The nucleus is the dense, positively charged center of an atom. It contains protons and neutrons.

    * Electrons: Electrons are negatively charged particles that orbit the nucleus in shells or energy levels.

So, while protons and neutrons reside in the nucleus, electrons orbit around it.
