  • What Are Clouds Made Of? Understanding Cloud Composition
Clouds are not a solid, liquid, or gas in the traditional sense. They are collections of tiny water droplets or ice crystals suspended in the air.

    Here's why:

    * Water droplets: When water vapor in the atmosphere cools, it condenses into tiny water droplets. These droplets are small enough to be suspended in the air by the wind.

    * Ice crystals: At very cold temperatures, water vapor can freeze into ice crystals. These crystals can also form clouds.

So, while clouds are made up of water (either liquid or solid), they are not a single substance in the same way as a solid, liquid, or gas. They are aggregates of tiny particles.
