  • Ethanol-Free Gasoline: What Brands Offer (and Why It's Rare)
There are no major brands of gasoline that do not contain ethanol in the United States.

    Here's why:

    * Government Mandate: The U.S. government mandates the addition of ethanol to gasoline (typically 10%). This is done to promote the use of renewable fuels and reduce dependence on foreign oil.

    * Cost-Effectiveness: Ethanol is a cheaper alternative to pure gasoline, making it economically beneficial for fuel producers.

    * Availability: Finding pure gasoline without ethanol is extremely difficult, as the vast majority of gasoline sold in the US contains ethanol.

    However, you might find:

    * "Non-Ethanol" Gas Stations: These stations are often located in rural areas and cater to specific customer needs, such as for older vehicles that might be incompatible with ethanol blends.

    * Aviation Fuel: Aviation gasoline typically does not contain ethanol.

    * Racing Fuel: Some racing fuels are specifically formulated without ethanol.

Important Note: It's crucial to check the pump or consult the gas station attendant to confirm the ethanol content of the fuel, as some brands might offer both ethanol-blended and non-ethanol options.
