* Full outer shell: Noble gases have a complete outer shell of electrons. This means they have a stable electron configuration and don't need to gain or lose electrons to become more stable.
* Weak interatomic forces: The atoms in noble gases only interact through weak van der Waals forces, which are easily overcome.
* High ionization energy: It takes a lot of energy to remove an electron from a noble gas atom, making it very difficult to form positive ions.
Because of their low reactivity, noble gases are often called "inert gases". However, they can participate in reactions under extreme conditions, such as high temperatures or pressures.
