  • Where is Helium Found? Natural Gas Deposits & Atmospheric Occurrence
Helium is most commonly found in natural gas deposits.

While helium exists in the atmosphere, it is very rare (about 5.2 parts per million by volume). Natural gas deposits, especially those found in the United States, often contain a small percentage of helium. This is where most of the helium we use today is extracted.
