  • Seaborgium: Discovery and Naming by Lawrence Berkeley Lab
    Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory (formerly known as Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory) is credited with the discovery and naming of several elements, but the most well-known one is Seaborgium (Sg).

    Seaborgium was discovered in 1974 and named in honor of Glenn T. Seaborg, a renowned nuclear chemist who was also a Nobel laureate and a former director of the laboratory.
