  • Salt Hardness: Understanding Its Position on the Mohs Scale
Salt (NaCl) is not listed on the Mohs hardness scale.

The Mohs scale is designed for minerals, and while salt is a mineral, it is not particularly hard. It's very soft and easily scratched, even with your fingernail.

Instead of the Mohs scale, salt's hardness would be measured using a different method, such as a scratch test or indentation test.
