  • Atom Charge: Understanding Neutrality & Atomic Structure
A whole atom has a neutral charge.

    Here's why:

    * Protons: Positively charged particles located in the atom's nucleus.

    * Electrons: Negatively charged particles orbiting the nucleus.

    * Neutrons: Neutral particles located in the nucleus.

In a neutral atom, the number of protons (positive charges) is equal to the number of electrons (negative charges). The positive and negative charges perfectly balance each other out, resulting in a net charge of zero.
