  • Kerosene: Homogeneous or Heterogeneous? Understanding Mixtures
    Kerosene is a homogeneous mixture.

    Here's why:

    * Homogeneous mixtures have a uniform composition throughout. This means that the components are evenly distributed and you can't visually distinguish them.

    * Heterogeneous mixtures have components that are not evenly distributed and you can often see the different parts.

Kerosene is a blend of hydrocarbons. While it's made up of different molecules, these molecules are evenly dispersed, making it appear as a single substance. You can't see separate components in kerosene.
