  • Chocolate Chip Ice Cream: Homogeneous or Heterogeneous?
Chocolate chip ice cream is not a homogeneous mixture. Here's why:

    * Homogeneous mixtures have a uniform composition throughout. This means the components are evenly distributed and you can't easily distinguish between them. Think of saltwater - it's all the same saltiness throughout.

    * Chocolate chip ice cream has visible, distinct chocolate chips scattered within the ice cream base. The chocolate chips are not uniformly distributed, and you can easily pick them out. This makes it a heterogeneous mixture.
