  • Gold Sublimation: Understanding the Temperature & Process
Gold doesn't "become a gas" in the traditional sense. Here's why:

    * Sublimation: Gold doesn't melt into a liquid and then boil into a gas. Instead, it undergoes a process called sublimation, where it transitions directly from a solid to a gas.

    * High Temperature: The temperature at which this happens is extremely high - around 2856 degrees Celsius (5193 degrees Fahrenheit).

So, while you could technically say gold becomes a gas at that temperature, it's more accurate to say it sublimes at that temperature.
