  • How to Create Water Vapor: Simple Methods & Science
    Method 1: Boiling Water

    1. Boil water. Fill a pot or kettle with water and place it over high heat. Bring the water to a full boil.

    2. Observe the steam. As the water boils, you will notice steam rising from the surface. This steam is water vapor.

    3. Collect the steam. You can collect the steam by holding a cold object, such as a metal spoon, over the pot or kettle. The steam will condense on the spoon and form water droplets.

    Method 2: Condensing Water Vapor

    1. Create a warm, humid environment Fill a sink or basin with hot water.

    2. Hang a cold object Hang a cold object, such as a mirror, above the water.

    3. Observe the condensation After a few minutes, you will see water droplets forming on the cold object. This is because the water vapor in the air is condensing on the cold surface.
