  • Sulfur Price per Gram: Understanding Market Value & Factors
Sulfur is an abundant non-metallic chemical element with the symbol S and atomic number 16. It is the tenth element of the periodic table and is the lightest member of the chalcogen group. Sulfur is a commonly found yellow crystalline solid with a slight odor that can be found in nature as the pure elemental allotrope, but also as sulfide and sulfate minerals.

The price of sulfur can vary widely based on the form and quantity required, as well as location and market conditions. For instance, as of my last update in September 2021, on average, in the United States, the price for 1 gram of high-quality, research-grade elemental sulfur powder (99.99% purity) can range roughly between $0.02 to $0.04 (2 to 4 cents).

It's important to note that prices may have changed since my last update, and the cost may vary significantly based on factors such as market fluctuations, demand, and location. For the most current and accurate pricing information, it's recommended to check with a reliable chemical supplier.
