  • Lithium vs. Beryllium Reactivity: Understanding Element Behavior
    Lithium is more reactive than beryllium.

    Reactivity of elements generally increases down a group and decreases across a period. Lithium and beryllium are in the same period (2nd period), but lithium is in Group 1 (alkali metals) while beryllium is in Group 2 (alkaline earth metals). Therefore, lithium is more reactive than beryllium.
