  • Convection and Radiation: Understanding Heat Transfer Methods
The other two main ways that heat can be transferred are:

    - Convection: This is the transfer of heat by the movement of a fluid. For example, when you boil water, the heat from the bottom of the pot is transferred to the water molecules, which then rise to the top of the pot and are replaced by cooler water molecules.

    - Radiation: This is the transfer of heat through electromagnetic waves. For example, the heat from the sun is transferred to the Earth by radiation.
