  • Hydrochloric Acid & Aluminum Reaction: Understanding the Chemical Reaction
Hydrochloric acid and aluminum don't explode when closed in a container. When aluminum is exposed to hydrochloric acid, a controlled exothermic reaction occurs. The reaction between hydrochloric acid and aluminum produces hydrogen gas and aluminum chloride and is considered vigorous but not explosive.
