  • Sulfur Fracture: Understanding Conchoidal Breaking
Sulfur doesn't shatter; instead, it breaks into pieces with irregular surfaces rather than sharp edges. This tendency to break unevenly is known as a conchoidal fracture and is commonly observed in brittle materials like glass, quartz, and certain minerals. Unlike shattering, which results in fragments with sharp edges, conchoidal fracturing produces curved or shell-like surfaces.
