Bromothymol blue is an indicator that can change colour in response to changes in pH. It is yellow in acidic solutions, blue in basic solutions, and green in neutral solutions. The colour of nitric acid in 0.1 bromothymol blue will therefore be yellow, as nitric acid is a strong acid.
