  • Chalcopyrite: The Most Abundant Copper Ore - Properties & Uses
    The most common ore of copper is chalcopyrite, a copper iron sulfide mineral with a chemical formula CuFeS2. It is the most abundant copper sulfide mineral and is often found in copper-rich rocks, such as porphyry copper deposits. Chalcopyrite has a brassy-yellow color and a hardness of 3.5 to 4 on the Mohs scale.
