  • Protons and Electrons in a Neutral Atom (Atomic Number 30)
    Protons: 30

    Electrons: 30

An element's atomic number represents the number of protons found in the nucleus of an atom of that element. Since atoms are electrically neutral, the number of electrons in a neutral atom must be equal to the number of protons. Therefore, a neutral atom of an element with an atomic number of 30 will have 30 protons and 30 electrons.
