  • Bromine Reactions: Electron Gain and Chemical Bonding
    Bromine tends to react by gaining electrons. This is because bromine has a high electronegativity, which means that it has a strong attraction for electrons. When bromine reacts with another element, it will often gain electrons from that element, forming a negative ion. For example, when bromine reacts with sodium, the bromine atoms gain electrons from the sodium atoms, forming bromide ions (Br-) and sodium ions (Na+).
